Margaret Lee founded the artist-run space 179 Canal in 2009 and is currently a partner in the gallery 47 Canal. She has organized and exhibited work at numerous venues domestically and internationally. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Dallas Museum of Art, Dikeou Collection, Denver and the Astrup Fearnley Museet, Oslo.
Snapping in Chinatown
I witnessed an older white male, upon exiting the exhibition, manhandle an Asian protestor, shoving them out of his way. James Cohan Gallery employees stood by and did nothing. I snapped.
